HEY FRIENDS
AROOM IS NOT JUST A COFFEE SHOP. IT IS AN INTERSECTION OF MULTIPLE DREAMS.
We are located in one of the most lively parts in the Evergreen State, Seattle, Washington.
Our dream of opening a coffee shop started three years ago when my parents decided to leave Vietnam. Along with everything they built over the past decades, they came to Seattle, where my sister and I began our life adventures.
A 50 years old couple with neither knowledge of English nor this new country that came with a completely different culture, sacrificed everything for their children. Yet, the only thing this new life could give my parents at the time was job rejections.
One day, before heading out for work, I took a sip of the “phin” coffee my dad made and instantly, all the memories from Vietnam came rushing back to me. That moment brought us to 2020 where AROOM’s journey began.
In November, 2020, we toured this huge and open space with bright natural lighting, a high ceiling, and most importantly, the cozy vibes suited for a welcoming coffeeshop.
After 10 months of negotiating, designing, and receiving bids from builders, we finally signed the lease for this space that is now a home for for our dream, called AROOM
We had zero prior experience but the passion kept on driving us to learn, research, and come out with delicious coffee recipes that could take you back to Vietnam. A place where beans are harvested straight from the field to our coffee shop counters.
After months of late night testing drinks, decorating, and building everything from scratch, our family finally can introduce to all of you what we have been humbly, yet proudly working on.
AROOM is not only where we want to serve our family coffee recipe but also where we deliver HAPPINESS.
AROOM is run by a 26 year old dreamer, her chef mom and dad, a professional coffee roaster aka her husband, a talented recipe creator sister and her detailed-oriented partner. Last but not least, her two “go-getter” best friends.
